There is no way to list all of the
great museums that pay tribute to
warbirds, but I will list a few:
United States
Air Force Museum
Otherwise simply known as "Wright-Patt,"
the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio
is a fantastic place to visit.
You need 3 or 4 days, so plan
accordingly.
National
Museum of Naval Aviation
We just call this "Pensacola."
Some people go to Florida for the
beaches. We go there for this
museum. This is an
unbelievable place to see some
beautiful warbirds and learn about
the history of Naval Aviation.
Cavanaugh
Flight Museum
If you are within a couple of
hundred miles of Dallas, you have to
visit this museum in Addison, Texas.
They are great people and they have
some great airplanes.
Kalamazoo Air
Zoo
The Air Zoo is a great place to
visit and take kids. They have
a wonderful interactive museum and
you can learn a ton about warbirds
there.
Mighty Eighth
Air Force Museum
Savannah, Georgia is a beautiful
town and is home to this absolutely
wonderful museum. This is a
fantastic place to learn the history
of the men and women who have
defended our freedom flying and
fighting.
Planes of Fame
Los Angeles, California is a big
place and it is easy to get lost or
stuck in traffic.
Nevertheless, it is worth the effort
to get to little Chino, California.
Chino is home to the Planes of Fame
museum, which is a very active
warbird flying museum. This is
a cool place.
Imperial War
Museum Duxford
Planning your next vacation to
England? Me, too. Well,
the great thing about the Internet
is you can check it out from here.
I hope to go here some day...when we
start to export Warbird beer.
Warbird Alley
Museum Index
This is probably the most
comprehensive and useful website for
looking for warbird museums.
This is a great site. You
should bookmark it and keep it for
